The Rouvinez family had 37 hectares
(92.5 acres) of vineyards in central Valais until 1998. The purchase
of the “Caves Orsat”, in 1998, gave the family access
to a further equivalent area. At present, more than 70 hectares
(175 acres) of vineyards are cultivated with highly professional
methods by our wine growing team.
All the vineyards are situated in central Valais, between Loèche
and Martigny. The slopes of the Rhone valley provide soils and a
climate which are ideal for vine cultivation.
The variety of exposure, and of the soils, enables various types
of grape to be planted, some of which are indigenous and quite exclusive,
such as petite arvine, cornalin and humagne.
